shuriken. not ninja throwing star. granted, it is a ninja throwing star, but it has a proper name dagnabbit. Hope he has a metal detector for use in all that high grass. I use one in the back woods all the time when little sharp bits of metal go ziiiing and bound off into the leaf litter
let me assure you, these were NINJA THROWING STARS rather than shurikens. said so on the package. they are made of rubber, but good heavy stuff, so you can really whip them. Jake had been firing them at Fern (Kate's car, which she was in the process of parking) when one of them overshot and ended up in the tall weeds at the edge of the pond.
