n.a.g.p.b.y.w.b.m.o.: active violence shop
[updated 9/19]
I wanted to bring this one up from the archives, because concerned-netizen Kwikdraw has resolved the mystery. That storefront is the premier custom airgun shop in Japan, and possibly the world. Rock!

this is in Shibuya. I tried to go down to the shop. a spiral staircase led down to a locked metal door with no signage and no handle. perhaps that's just as well.

dunno, the door was locked...
Kwikdraw! You're a genius.
Ah, glad Tokyo Tidbits could be of some help. The internet is fantastic that way, isn't it? Just glad that place isn't really a killer studio!
Little do they know we're all talking about it :)

I love the path this particular piece of information took to reach this page:
1. I travel to Shibuya and take a picture, come back to the bay area and post it two months later on my blog.
2. Two months after that, I post a question on odd things from japan, a blog by an Argentinean-Japanese woman now living in Japan.
3. She doesn't know, but shortly thereafter, an American living in Japan notices and links to
4. Your two-year-old blog post. Incidentally, you have since moved to the Bay Area, which is where I live.
So, a piece of information about a random storefront (this is a small sign, on a random street corner, for those surprisingly-few of you reading this who haven't actually stood on that particular corner) passes back and forth across the ocean a few times, and a piece of data is transferred... ten miles across the San Francisco Bay.
The ice caps may be melting and the oceans may be dying, but by God our species is getting good at moving trivia around!
It's globalization in a new age.
Viva la globalizacion!
BTW, Kwikdrwaw is Canadian.
You were looking for some Take Out Violence?
I'll take a number 3 with a side of shiv.
yeah, was hoping for a little dose of back home; there was too much
excellent cuteness in that
neighborhood and it was making me dizzy.
