NO! no bonus points for you.

Well, okay, you get a few points for effort.

I have to say that apparently my blog readership is far less geeky than I thought. Unless people aren't answering b/c the question is insultingly easy... I just assumed everyone in the blog world was a giant nerd, but apparently not. The only person who's gotten it so far is my sister, and she's one of those people who refuses to comment on the blog publicly.

my message to the rest of you:
YOU CALL YOURSELVES GEEKS? I'VE SEEN ROOT VEGETABLES WITH MORE OTAKU CRED.

fubbhead: you get two bonus points for knowing that Mondoshawans are called Mondoshawans (something I didn't know and even now only have your word for it so it's possible this is all a clever bluff), but that's still not the answer...

Hey, it's that robot from that Miyazaki film! Oooh, "Laputa, Castle in the Sky", in the vernacular.

FINALLY!

good work, graymalkin. it's about bloody time. you win the monkey 0
l33t-geek merit badge.

it's the robot from LAPUTA, people, LAPUTA!

geesh.

as penance, everyone who didn't know that until they read this post isn't allowed to eat any solid food until they've watched the entire Miyazaki canon. with the exception of Howl's Moving Castle which hasn't been released in this country yet and I don't want it to be said that I'm unfair.

let's go, people. netflix, chop-chop.

just don't start singing "Concrete road, take me home...."

So were you on top of the Ghibli museum or some such when you photgraphed the robot?

indeed; I didn't mean to require that people watch the full output of Studio Ghibli; the non-Miyazaki films should be considered optional.

and yes, we were on top of the museum. if I had any bonus points left in the till you would get them for knowing the location of the robot as well...
