oahu, hawaii: kapiolani park

this is the park you get to after you walk past all the white people turning themselves pink on waikiki beach.

there was space for 20 or 30 concurrent soccer games. it was a nice day.

oahu, hawaii: the boat. tuna. spinner dolphins. flying fish.

there was a whale, too, but all the pictures came out like black lumps in the water.

flying fish are weird looking. they are also very fast and therefore hard to photograph.

if you look carefully, you can see the small silver fish that was leaping out of the water trying to escape this yellowfin tuna. I do not know how the story ended.

the reason we were on this boat in the first place was to see these spinner dolphins:

Ros: Do you think death could possibly be a boat?
Guil: No, no, no... Death is... not. Death isn't. You take my meaning. Death is the ultimate negative. Not-being. You can't not-be on a boat.
Ros: I've frequently not been on boats.
Guil: No, no, no--what you've been is not on boats.

oahu, hawaii: fear god power lifting team

these are photos of a road-side restaurant on the east side of Oahu:

the menu was titled: "KEN's Plate Lunch + CHURCH Gym"

Rev 20: 11-15
AND I SAW A GREAT WHITE THRONE and him who sat upon it from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. and I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. and the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. and death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. this is the second death: the lake of fire. and if anyone's name was not found written in the bok of life; he was thrown into the lake of fire.

the shaved ice was delicious.
